In a new report, State of the Global Climate 2023, from the UN’s World Meteorological Organization, the authors said the climate is in dire shape. Its official title was “Climate change indicators reached record levels in 2023: WMO”. Among its findings were that global temperature reached a record level in 2023. Also, this is likely to happen again this year. It also reported that climate change was undermining socio-economic development. “Never have we been so close – albeit on a temporary basis at the moment – to the 1.5° C lower limit of the Paris Agreement on climate change,” said WMO Secretary-General Celeste Saulo. “The WMO community is sounding the Red Alert to the world.” The conclusions are not new. Several other agencies and climate experts have said the same thing over the last year.

A new report in The Detriot Free Press says that many young Americans may decide not to have children because of the climate. “More recently, the Lancet Planet Health study found that 36% of Americans ages 16 to 25 were hesitant to have children due to climate change.”

In a story titled “Can Climate Cafes Help Ease the Anxiety of Planetary Crisis?” the author states,” The groups, which allow people to talk through their emotions around environmental change, have sprung up across the country, including for therapists.”
