Destruction Of Wind Energy In America

The world’s largest offshore wind farm maker Orsted took another $1.7 billion write off for its wind farm off New York. It took a $4 billion write off last year. It is another sign wind energy is falling apart in the US. The move comes as President Donald Trump said that wind farms could not use federal land.
*The Future Of Wind Energy
Mads Nipper, group president and CEO of Orsted, described the impairment and construction challenges as “very disappointing” but doubled down on his company’s commitment to the U.S. reports Fortune. But with the Trump decision, it is hard to see how that will work
The Trump Administration made the decision about wind energy yesterday. The White House comment read, “This withdrawal temporarily prevents consideration of any area in the OCS for any new or renewed wind energy leasing for the purposes of generation of electricity or any other such use derived from the use of wind. This withdrawal does not apply to leasing related to any other purposes such as, but not limited to, oil, gas, minerals, and environmental conservation.”
Wind energy is one of the three legs in renewable’s stool. The other two are nuclear and solar. Solar energy has been successful in America, and has made huge progress in China.
Three Mile Island
Nuclear energy was hard to adopt in the US after the Three Mile Island meltdown in 1979. However, new small nuclear reactors have started to gain traction, especially across the AI server farm business.
And, it is severe farms that may break the back of US energy needs
