Orlando can expect as much as 20 inches of rain, high winds as powerful as 100 MPH, and flooding. Universal Orland will be shut for days and perhaps weeks.
Universal Orlando has about 20,000 visitors a day. Nearby Disney properties have over 100,000. Universal Orlando is owned by NBCUniversal, which, in turn, is owned by Comcast.
Local Economy
Universal Orlando is only a tiny example of what happens to local economies after large storms. Local GDP will be affected from Tampa to Jacksonville. When residential destruction is considered, damages in the area will total well into the billions of dollars.
AccuWeather estimated the cost of Hurricane Helene to be as high as $250 billion. Milton will unlikely go that high, but the figure will be considerable.
