Income To Buy Homes Collapsed In Hurricane Areas

Realtor.com has issued a study titled “How much you need to earn in every state to afford a house.” The figure for hurricane-prone states is low; in some cases, it is the lowest in America.
The national number is about $100,000 annually for a family of four. Hawaii has the highest required income at $229,000, and a three-bedroom home is priced at $796,946.
Mississippi And Alabama
The figures in Louisiana ($79,000), Mississippi ($83,000), Alabama ($93,000), and South Carolina ($101,000) are much lower.
Are the low incomes in hurricane-prone states a coincidence? That is a good question. The people in those areas may be unlikely. That is a better analysis than those matching geography and income with weather disturbances.
The closer people live to the Gulf or Ocean, the more money they will make. People with lower incomes often live inland. Even if storms hit them, it is usually not with the ferocity of those at the water’s edge.
Demographics married with outcomes, at least those involving weather, may be convenient but not necessarily accurate.
