Massive Wildfire in California Threatens Billions in Damage
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that California’s largest wildfire of 2025 is already burning over 70,000 acres near Santa Barbara, with minimal containment. While the affected area is less densely populated than Los Angeles, the fire is still expected to cause billions of dollars in damage to homes, infrastructure, and possibly businesses. McIntyre warns that although it may not rival the $250 billion toll of past LA fires, the cost will be substantial.
