Florida And Michigan Hammered By Tornadoes
According to data from Inside Climate News, the areas of the US that suffer from tornadoes have shifted heavily from Louisiana, Iowa, and Arkansas to the eastern part of the country, with Michigan on the northern border of the increased activity and Florida on the south. This is based on data about “tornado days” and related information.
The data for the analysis runs from 1980 to 2020. One of the questions raised is whether the information is accurate. “Tornado data in the United States is also compromised by lack of consistency in everything from tornadoes’ intensity (which is based on after-the-fact damage assessments) to the National Weather Service alerts that residents get on their phones and TVs about storms.” an examination of the information shows.
Ohio And Kentucky
What is clear is that the number of tornadoes in states including Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee has risen and will continue to rise due to conditions. In one period recently tornado activity reached 100 in four days.
Tornado Activity
There is also no guarantee that tornado activity will move farther west. However, there is a new increase in activity in western Minnesota.
