Global GDP Could Fall By 50% From Climate Risk Shocks

As staggering as it may seem, a new study says that the climate crisis could drop global GDP by half between 2070 and 2090. While the analysis has a powerful message, it is extremely hard to make such projections so far into the future.
*How The Climate Changes
*Water Disasters Ruin Large Areas
The research comes from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. The paper is titled “Current climate policies risk catastrophic societal and economic impacts.” Its primary conclusion is “If unchecked, mass mortality, mass displacement, severe economic contraction and conflict become more likely.”
Some of this has already begun, although on a relatively small scale at least compared to their version of the end of the century. However, in some parts of the world, the foundation of these concerns is already in place. There are large population areas where the heat has become so high for so long that they will not be livable. Delhi, with a population of 20 million people has temperatures that rise to over 110 degrees F for several. And, the air pollution is stifling. Some of this population will need to relocate to survive. There is nowhere for them to go–or at least nowhere that will accept them.
Can People Live When Temps Are Above 120 Degrees F?
There is scientific evidence that people cannot live long in places where temperatures are above 120 degree F. In other parts of the world, areas will be flooded to the extent that the population will need to move. Once again, there will be conflicts as people try to move to places with adequate food, water, and a temperate climate
There is at least a chance that the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is right.
