It Doesn’t Matter If It The Hottest Year
Axios made an unbelievable comment. It doesn’t matter if 2024 was the hottest year. It doesn’t matter if 2025 is hotter. Why? Almost every year will be the hottest, and the world will pay the consequences. The climate crisis death spiral can’t be recovered.
*Global Warning
“While hottest-year records are a dime a dozen these days, 2024’s is actually even more foreboding than one might expect.,” Axios reports.
The observation is from a PNAS paper titled, “Rapidly declining remarkability of temperature anomalies may obscure public perception of climate change.” “Climate change exposes people to conditions that are historically unusual but that will become increasingly common over time.”
This bodes poorly for work to improve the climate because the efforts will seem hopeless when it sink in. In indiates the the immediacy that most people. Governments and corporations will disappear or at least worsen.
Wet Feet
Without immediacy, the Axios comments would have become a self-fulfilling prophecy. The ship sinks because people think it is normal to get their feet wet.
