NASA claims that 2024 will be the hottest year since records started to be kept in the mid-19th Century. The news should come as no surprise. Many scientists had already predicted it.

According to Axios, “NASA’s top climate scientist, Gavin Schmidt, estimates that the chance of a new annual record being set in 2024 is greater than 99%.” It will best the 2023 record.

This year’s record heat will be blamed for some of the world’s worst weather catastrophes. These include Hurricanes Helene and Mliton, each of which hit the US. The worst rainstorm in 100 years hit Roswell, NM, just days ago. As five inches fell, two people were killed.
