Temperatures in the area are expected to be above 110 degrees F.
At 100 degrees F, such temperatures increase the chance of heat stroke. These conditions can cause extreme health problems and death. Emergency rooms fill up, and medical treatment costs rise.

Work is interrupted, and particularly outdoor work like construction. Prolonged heat can affect local GDPs.
The endless hot days in the Northern Hemisphere will drop. But weather conditions are such that even in the fall, temperatures can spike above 100 degrees in California. They reached over 90 degrees in San Francisco, which usually has temperate weather.
