Palm Beach’s $72 Million House Sits in Hurricane- Prone Area
Palm Beach has several homes for sale at a price point over $20 million. All are on the water, and the most expensive are on the Atlantic.
Among those on the market now is the northernmost part of the island of Palm Beach. The price for the home is $72,800,000. A storm surge and high winds could destroy some or all of it.
The house at 1610 N Ocean Blvd has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Built in 2018, it has not sold quickly. It has been on the market for almost two years.
The N. Ocean home is one of dozens exposed to huge storms. Although the owners have enough money to build seawalls, in the largest storms, this would not be sufficient.
As storms worsen, the owners also face the question of home insurance, which would be automatically expensive based on the cost of home replacement.
