Exxon’s Horrible Reputation
According to a new Axios-Harris poll, the reputations of two huge oil companies fell based on Americans’ opinions. The data covered 100 well-known corporations. Royal Dutch Shell fell two positions in the study to 57th out of 100. ExxonMobil dropped two positions to 86th place.
Climate News –Global Warming’s $215 Trillion Price Tag
Exxon has been listed as the world’s fourth worst polluter based on greenhouse gas emissions. It is a party to several lawsuits ay cities and states that access it and other fossil fuel companies from failing to disclose the effects of their product on the climate crisis.
Exxon is also a corporate behemoth. Its current market cap is over half a trillion dollars.
Climatecrisis247 believes the number of places each company fell in the new survey is not critical information. The fact that Exxon is rated so poorly overall based on being in the 86th spot is much more crucial. Exxon’s score is about equal to that of Boeing. It is another example of how poorly Americans view fossil fuel operations.
