America’s Best Environmental Charities

There was no need to reinvent the wheel. Charity Navigator offers the best quality screen of American non-profits. Founded in 2001, it has rated over 200,000 501(c)(3) organizations. Accountability and finance are at the core of their reviews. Charities they evaluate receive a zero to four-star rating based on scores of 0 to 100 possible points. A charity awarded 90 points or more is labeled “great,” meaning it “Exceeds or meets best practices and industry standards across almost all areas. Likely to be a highly-effective charity.”
Only a few charities make the Charity Navigator list of “great environmental” charities. Each has a score well above 90.
