Trump Could Ruin Wind Energy For Years

A series of decisions by the Trump Administration have virtually killed the chance for a successful wind energy in the US. Almost every financial support for the sector is gone.
Among the latest challenges is almost an entire elimination of the wind farm offshore sector. Two major companies in the business have given Orsted needs new funding to continue its efforts. TPI Companies went bankrupt. As Bloomberg points out, “The US administration’s stance against wind farms has been clear from the outset of Trump’s second term as he indefinitely halted the sale of new offshore wind leases.”
The industry is worried that these same challenges will be faced across the country.
Both the actions and the anxiety mean the funding for wind energy will largely disappear.
Coal Coming Back
The Trump barriers are a blow to the clean energy industry. Over 10% of electricity generated in the US comes from it. That is almost three times the figure for solar. And, it is about two-thirds of the coal market share.
It has been widely assumed that wind energy capacity would rise quickly and cut the need for coal. That will not happen. AI, crypto, and air conditioning are increasing electricity demand quickly. Without a surge in renewable courses, coal becomes one of the few alternatives.Â
