Costco Starts To Sell EVs

Costco’s long-time car sales business has added EVs for the first time. The retailer is large enough to even move the needle in US EV adoption.
The company said, “Today, Costco Auto Program launched EV Marketplace to help answer Costco member questions about electric and hybrid vehicles and serve as the source for all Costco Auto Program incentives related to EVs.”
Chevy And Volvo
The deals include The 2024 or 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV, Blazer EV, or Equinox EV; the GMC Sierra EV or Hummer SUV or Pickup EV; the 2024 or 2025 Corvette E-Ray; and the 2025 Volvo EX90. Incentives run as high as $3,000. The incentive period runs from February 24 to April 30.
Except for Tesla, US car companies have struggled with EV sales. GM’s EV sales in the fourth quarter of last year were $21,930, putting it behind Ford and Tesla. EV sales remain a tiny fraction of GM’s overall US car sales.
Ford’s Stuggle
Ford is absent from the Costo list. The US car company has struggled the most in the EV market. It has put billions of dollars into the sector. Recently, it offered 0% financing on its F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E. It views these at its EV flagships.
The Costco promotion also presses the advantages of EV safety and maintenance.
Chevy made the right decision.
