Massive Heatwave Found In Ocean

A part of the ocean, which is five times the size of Australia, is much warmer than most of the surrounding water. It is shocking, considering its size.
According to The Guardian, “WMO scientists said the record heat – on land and in the ocean – was mostly driven by the climate crisis and coincided with a string of extreme weather events, from deadly landslides in the Philippines to floods in Australia and rapid glacier loss in Indonesia.”
This is among the most widespread climate changes from normal circumstances anywhere in the world.Â
Hurricane Season
Water that is heated in this way tends to cause violent weather disturbances.
Among the reasons for the ferocity of Hurricanes Beryl, Helene, and Milton last year was super warm water in the South Atlantic and across the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures in the Gulf reached 86 degrees F last summer.
It may take a year or two for the huge, highly heated water to trigger storm events, but it will.
