Toyota Says EV Drive Major Pollution

Toyota is the world’s largest seller of hybrids, so it is natural for the company to promote its product. However, it has become aggressive, claiming that its hybrids pollute the environment less than electric vehicles (EVs). EVs are not very green.
“We have sold some 27 million hybrids. Those hybrids have had the same impact as 9 million BEVs on the road,” said Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda
Toyota also has a large footprint in the fossil fuel industry. Like GM and Ford, while hybrids and EVs are part of their businesses, they are a relatively small part. This remains true even after tens of billions of investments.
The debate about EVs centered on the cost of building and disposing of them. This is a decade-old period.
There is no correct answer on Toyota’s side of the debate.
