It’s 112 Degrees F in Kano, Nigeria. Most of the hottest places today are in Nigeria, Niger, and Chad. The countries are adjacent to one another in Eastern Africa. Nigeria’s coast is on the Guinea Sea section of The Atlantic Ocean.
Kano is in northern Nigeria, near the Niger border. Kano is the capital of Kano State and the second largest city in Nigeria, with over five million people.
Nano typically has sweltering weather in March and April, when the average high temperature is over 100 degrees. Hot weather has come early this year. The region’s climate is also marked by extreme rain in July and August.
Hot temperatures have plagued the region recently. The government recently announced that residents should prepare for severe dehydration if they are outside at midday. The warnings included heightened risks of chickenpox disease, Measles, and heat rash.
Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) issued a further warning. “Seek shade, use fans, and wear light, breathable clothing to reduce exposure to high temperatures. Furthermore, the agency warned that people should avoid strenuous physical activity during peak heat hours.”.
