The Hottest Place In America Today   108 Degrees

It is 108 degrees at San Angelo Regional Airport—Mathis Field, between San Antonio and Midland. This section of Texas has been baking under 100 degrees F plus for days.

San Angelo has 100,000 residents and experienced a growth explosion in the 1950s. Its population has doubled since then. The population is about half White and half Hispanic.

San Angelo is one of the hottest places in America.  Its record high temperature is over 107 degrees from April through October. The mean maximum temperature is over 100 degrees from May through August. The region gets little rain, at about 20 inches per year, most of which falls between May and October.

Heat Dome

Much of Texas is under what is known as a “heat dome” now. The heat index in San Antonio will be over 100 degrees F for ten days.
