As Storms Threaten US Gulf, It Faces Billions In Damages
New Accuweather charts show a Tropical Storm that may move close to Louisiana later this week. It may strengthen from current levels.
The Accuweather read, “AccuWeather hurricane experts are sounding the alarm for a brewing tropical threat that could bring direct impacts to the Gulf Coast of the United States late next week into next weekend.”

The forecast also said warm Gulf water could considerably strengthen the storm.
South Texas
The parts of the US that are likely to be affected, even if only by heavy rain, are Louisiana and South Texas, near Houston. Since hurricane season started, that part of the Gulf has been quiet except for Hurricane Beryl, which damaged Houston severely on July 8. Beryl did $10 billion in damages.
Hurricane Helene showed that areas do not need to be in the direct path of strong hurricanes. The disasters in western North Carolina showed that.
“This has been an extremely impactful hurricane season, and it’s not over yet. AccuWeather experts estimate the total damage and economic loss from landfalling storms in the U.S. this year is approaching $500 billion,” said AccuWeather Lead Hurricane Expert Alex DaSilva
